| marginalia...something unique and wonderful to find, not so common as you might believe...fortunately some students over time have been encouraged to and relied upon making notes and expressing themselves in books. Gratefully I collect (harvest) them for 'the roots' of my own pencil grass series...even more perfect are these which border Walden - Civil Disobedience... Henry David Thoreau. He told them that reading a book should not be a passive exercise, but rather a raucous conversation. |
