Road Ode 1987...wonder where these went?

This is a table top I painted as part of a collection for the Thatch pub back in '87...not sure where they are now but just found this image on Bob's website, which is a great place to refresh your memories.
The odd writing reads:

 Ferry ends
road begins
ascends
bends...
turns and
wends
road crew
tends
patches of
pavement
stretches of
road. Hill
descends
at water
ends...
Reverse
ascends
hill
road of stretches
pavement
of patches.
Road
crew
tends
wends
and turns...
bends
descends
road ends
ferry
begins...again.
